Recently my friend asked me a very interesting question that kept me thinking about it – How To Convince Ourselves That Sleep Is Important?
I must admit I found myself guilty about not having enough sleep and thought about a solution.
Thinking about it I numbered some things that kept me awake at night.
Life is beautiful. Sleeping can sometimes be the synonym of losing hours of being alive, and we do not want that.
Staying up late and ignoring sleep can be all fun and full of adventures but not for a very long period. After a while, you will notice that your body will react to that.
The brain needs sleep for its function, and by that, it means that getting enough sleep is very important for you to function.
Wild Nights And Short Sleeps
We have all been to that party. Yeah, all that alcohol, and games, and stuff.
Yes, we have all been dancing to loud music that made us go wild and shake all the stress away.
We have all been there smoking those cigars, all of them. But, going back home at morning hours have led us to understand how wrong that decision was. It was worth it, all the fun and the things that we experienced, we thought. But the very next morning, after less than two hours of resting, we wanted to hug that pillow very tight and never to be able to let it go, didn’t we?
Wild nights are the nights when we decide to be the ones we don’t show to the public every day. That would happen for different reasons, and sometimes it is just needed to do so.
But, if those wild nights become wildly often, then sleep will hit our brains in the worst possible ways.
We become our worst enemy and then we pass across the main question How To Convince Ourselves That Sleep Is Important?
Staying Up Late On Social Media
You, yes, you have been through this more than it should. Texting and talking through your social media, and ignoring your sleep is one of the best things you are capable of doing at night.
There is no chance that you turn on your phone, and you turn it off after 5 minutes of scrolling. How long did it take you? How did those 5 minutes turn into hours?
Ignoring sleep over social media is something you should not be doing to yourself. No post is worth being seen tonight than tomorrow morning. Your health matters the most, and that should be your priority — sleep over social media. How To Convince Ourselves That Sleep Is Important? Please, that is easy just do not let social media to sleep over your hours of sleep.
How To Convince Ourselves That Sleep Is More Important Than Overthinking
A lot of things happen in our life that makes us lose sleep. Thinking of them in your bed before sleep can leave you awake all night long. Overthinking on how things are and how they should be or should have been, is probably something you just can’t run away from, and you want to change that.
Remember, overthinking does not solve any of your problems, nor does it change them. It can just worsen your situation. Not having enough sleep can get your head into the troubles you do not want to be.
Take care of yourself. Have regular meals, and please take the rest you need.
Treat yourself right before anyone else does it for you.
